Q: What’s the best way to buy Abilify for cheap???
I need to know who offers this medication for the best price even if it means I have to buy large amounts at a time, use a pill cutter, or buy off the internet.
A: That is the most expensive medication I have tried so far – at least with my insurance, it was $102 at all pharmacies near me…. My insurance just might have covered it, I forget. What I did was always got samples from my psychiatrist…. but then I switched to a different medication that is not as expensive
Sorry this doesn’t really help… but you could ask for samples.
Q: Where should i buy drastically discounted abilify?
I found a great deal at Emed Outlet but I dont know if its a safe website… help me please
A: never heard of that site so I can not tell you good or bad but I do know that online sites can be legit, may are.
I use a site called Low-Cost-Rx.com and they are legit and have excellent prices
some good ways to check on a site include:
- the site must take more than 1 credit card type (amex, mastercard, visa)
- the site must have a phone number that they answer
- the site must have faq’s that explain shipping and how they handle lost shippments
- the site must have real customer service (phone, email, chat) that when you ask a question they give you an answer that makes sense to you
- the site must explain their refund policy if you receive pills you feel are not of good quality
hope this helps
Q: I am Bi-polar and on lamictal, depakote, inderol, abilify, and prilsec (for heart burn)?
I am also on probation for Marijuana possession and subject to random drug tests. I was wondering if any of those medications will show up on the drug test as any “illicit substance.”
If so should I take a temporary detox? and which one should I take? and where can I buy it?
A: I wouldn’t suggest stopping your medications for a drug screen. I also don’t think that any of those would show up as an “illicit substance”. However, you should make sure that your probation officer has a list of the medications you take just in case any questions arise.
Q: I just started Abilify 2 days ago. Is my reaction normal?
I was diagnosed as bipolar (type 1). I was suicidal and totally and utterly miserable. I couldn’t even watch TV and relax at home. I had no concentration or motivation. Even laying on the couch was difficult. It was like being the walking dead. I was a tortured soul and in deep emotional pain.
All this happened one month ago when I went off Effexor. I knew that Effexor, which I had been on for ten years, had been the wrong drug for me. My psychiatrist confirmed it, saying that you never give anti-depressants to people with bipolar. No wonder I was going home and smoking 420 in order to bring myself down.
So two days ago, in the depths of suicidal despair, I started Abilify, taking 10mgs right before bed as instructed. For both of the last two nights, I had very restless sleep, if you can call it “sleep.” You know, tossing and turning all night, irritated, unable to lay still. I woke up drowsy and feeling drugged. Plus I have dull pain in my right side, which makes me think this drug is stressing my liver, as many of these drugs are known to do.
That and these other side effects scare me, but my doctor says that these “atypical” anti-psychotics are much better than the old ones and that I have to weigh the option of living as a tortured soul, which is exactly what I was without any medicine. It was like being in a 24-hour state of irritation. It was hell.
Now here’s the problem. For the last two mornings, after pulling myself out of bed and taking a shower, I buy a large iced tea. The caffeine IMMEDIATELY removes the “cloud” over me. And guess what? I feel much much better! I don’t want to commit suicide anymore! It’s like the air has been let out of the balloon, so to speak. I feel normal and can do my work. Not perfect, but totally better than when I wasn’t on any meds. There is no comparison.
My father’s side of the family had a history of mental illness. Years ago, one of his brothers was found dead in a motel room with empty liquor bottles on the floor. Another brother, still living, has been on disability for forty years. My two brothers are also on anti-psychotics, and they need to be.
The question is, what do I do? I feel better on Abilify after the feeling of waking up drugged wears off, but I can’t take the restless sleep and grogginess in the morning. My psychiatrist says that my body is “adjusting” to the medicine. Will this go away? I’m not sure I want my body to adjust to any kind of medicine which causes such a reaction! Any advice would be appreciated, especially from people who have been on Abilify and have experienced this.
A: You shouldn’t be smoking weed (420) and taking meds. Weed is a downer , its no wonder why you feel like crap! If you were serious about committing suicide, you would have done it already! Stop talking about being suicidal all the time you can change your mind frame to think differentially. you are freaking your self out and making yourself more depressed. I believe that you are using your fathers side of the family ” as that you are now mentally unstable! you are making up excused for your behavior! Stop taking about how your fathers brother committed suicide. that was his choice not you-res! stop trying to get a reaction out of others to see what they say when you tell this this horror story. I wouldn’t want people knowing it makes you come across as problematic.
What do you do: you stop living in the past! You think positive thoughts, you completely drop the idea that you will become like your father brothers. You find a good therapist and go to them 3X a week. and talk about your many issues! You continue to do this for 2 years! you try to get off all the meds that are frankly making you “crazy”! You tell yourself that you will be ok! You tell yourself that this will take time. That there is NO Miracle drug to cure you in one dose! You just try breathing and relaxing and finding someonethat you feel comfortable talking to . You stop switching shrinks who are using you as a “Lab Rat”! you get the proper help that you need. Just because you are taking your meds doesnt mean that you will feel 100% better. with any meds you should know this by now.. But it takes a good 30+ to feel the efffects of the medicine! After 2 days of taking something your body is just getting it into your blood. it will take a month for you to know if it is right for you. you are jumping the gun and wanting a quick fix! You should know better. you’ve been doingthis for a while now. you know that it takes time.
Go get a theripist someone that deosnt prescribe meds and talk to them! just do it. Stop complaining and act!
Q: Is the medication “Abilify” considered a “Street Drug”?
Not that I have it, or sell it, I’m curious because…Eh, well, heres the story:
My aunt called me litterally about 5 minutes ago and asked me if Abilify was a street drug. I told her I wasn’t sure, and asked her why. She responeded: “After I’d payed for my medication yesterday and brought it home, I realized that it was somebody else’s (perscription). I thought that if it was a street drug, that by giving it to people who didn’t need it, they would return it. Because they can’t sell medication after somebody’s had it, I figured it would hit the streets and kids would buy it.”
Is it a street drug? and what happens to medication after it has been returned to the store?
A: no, its not a street drug because no matter how many you take, you will not get high and it will not feel good. kids only buy pills if they will make them good. hope this helps!
Q: Nausea and abilify–your experience??
I started taking Abilify a week and a half ago in the hospital and had mild to moderate nausea. It went away. NOW it’s back. Anyone have this happen? Also, I went for 8 months without a craving for cigarrettes, andd yesterday the craving ws so bad I went out and bought a pack (grrr). Personal experience with Abilify would help me a lot. No quotes from pharmaceuticals please.
A: For over 18 tears, I have suffered Major Depression and an Anxiety Disorder. Main Symptoms were negative thinking/fear and major fatigue all the time.
I was started on Abilify about 6 months ago – and WOW – the fatigue is almost all gone as well as negative thinking. Yippee!
I have not noticed nausea; but the first week or two, I felt manic (which is rare for me) but my doctor assured me that I wasn’t manic. But I didn’t go into detail with her either. I am level now
Q: My brother is schizophrenic. I feel like I’ve lost him already, Is there a cure for this horrible disease?
He was diagnosed when he was 16, he never said that he is hearing voices, he still doesn’t believe that’s he is sick. He won’t talk unless you ask him a question, even then, he gives you a short answer. Sometimes he gives you two different answers when you ask him the same question. If someone asks how are you? it takes him a while to say “fine”. He does take his medicine requlary, He is taking Abilify and Risperedal. The thought of him ending up in streets depreases me. Of course, I would always take care of him, but I want him to have a life of his own. He can’t work, he is in school now, but can only take 1 or 2 classes a semester, he is already 20, he can’t drive. He has no friends, no gf, doesn’t talk to ANYBODY.I talk to him sometimes, but then I feel like I am talking to a wall, I can’t ever get anything out of him, so I just gave up talking. I buy him everything, take care of him, take him to school. I don’t know what’s out there for people with this disease. ANY ADVICE ????
A: I feel really sorry for you and for your brother, but he is lucky to have you.
Is he interested in anything like art or music? Maybe if you could find something that he is interested in an try to encourage that.
Some hospitals and health care centres have opportunities for people like your brother to get together and meet and talk about their problems. Sometimes just talking to other people in a similar situation is helpful.
Also, see if you can find any schizophrenia support groups where you could get a lot of information for your brother as well as yourself.
The links below contain a lot of info on schizophrenia and support groups and organizations. Hope that helps.
Q: how do I get proof of the my ex’s income that she is hiding?
My Boyfriend is paying $693.42 a month he grosses 1,200.?
Kristi refuses to buy new clothes for the boys to last the thorough summer. She now has bought a new Chihuahua and a new Tiffany necklace. Ed hardy Shirts for herself and boyfriend. These are expensive by the way. Who buy the way only lives with her when she gets money. she refused to buy school supplies for one of the boys. She told us of well he can go with out. The boys are 8 now and still have trouble forming complete sentences, and wet their pants on a regular basis. She keeps them on high doses of concerts and abilify so they will listen. Most of the time they are at her mom’s house or his mo’s if they aren’t with us. The listen fine when they are with us. We had them 22days in March, but she insist that Jeff is nothing but a weekend dad. I need all the advice I can get. Court case soon
she does a lot of medical studies at hilltop research and has a job but will not admit to any income because she want more child support. She also gets state assistance on top of this
A: take her back into court, ask for shared parenting, this way maybe u wouldn’t have to pay so much out.
Q: My son is 13 and has been diagnosed with severe OCD. Is this a safe medicine for him if taking 10mg a day?
Our psychiatrist put our son on Zoloft first (for three months) and then 2X 10mg of Lexipro (for the past 7 months) without progress–and we’ve been unable to get traction with therapy. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have any buy-in to getting help or changing, so his denial about how severe his affliction is is based on his stubborness or fear of changing.
Is adding Abilify with an SSRI a common treatment when the OCD is this severe?
I know very little about Abilify but I do know it is a new drug and has had very serious side effects in some users. My son does need to get better, but how risky is 10mg/day for a 13 year old boy?
A: 10mg per day is the recommended target dose of Abilify in 13 – 17 year olds, according to www.rxlist.com.
Abilify and the other atypical dopamine antagonists are prescribed off-label for OCD and other anxiety disorders when more traditional treatments have failed. Often the combination with an SSRI will provide some benefit when the SSRI alone has failed.
I hope the new combination works better for your son.
Q: Is is legal for US citizens to order RX drugs from Canada?
My daughter is bi-polar, she has tried a lot of drugs, we have seen miracles happen with Abilify, now, after six months of use our insurance has taken her co-pay from $35.00 a month to almost $200.00, she cannot afford that and has been in tears for two days, I have researched the net and found we can buy the generic from several pharmacies in Canada for around $100. 00 dollars for a 90 day supply and have even read where a couple of Govenors are trying to get bills passed so state employees insurance will ok buying them direct from Canada, (Illinois) So, therefore I am assuming it is legal for the average person to order drugs from Canada with a verified script from a licensed local Dr., am I correct on this? PLEASE answer this question only if you know facts about it. Thank you very, very much for your input.
A: Lots of people order drugs online from Canada, and it is in fact significantly cheaper. So many, in fact, that canadian provincial medical plans periodically threaten to find ways to shut down the market because it is limiting the availibility of the drugs in Canada.
Make sure you use a large, reputable firm, not “Bob’s discount drugs’.
Your only real risk is to make sure you have the legal right to possess the drugs in question. For instance, if a drug were to be legal in Canada but not the US, US customs could have problems. That would not normally be the case, but you never know.
One example of this I know of is that, in Canada, we can purchase over the counter muscle relaxants that contain codeine, whereas those are not available in the US except by prescription.
But in your daughter’s case, there should be no problem.
Q: please help..what do i do now?
im 14, ive dealt with this since i was young. my father and i have never liked eachother at all, but he has an un-diagnosed mental illness (they called it bipolar…but i know better than that!) he
-talks to himself loudly at all hours
-bangs around and makes noises
-screams at everyone and acts crazy
-thinks he has money where we dont know about
-thinks there is nothing wrong with him
-makes our life a hell
-is more abusive than normal emotionally
-gets us all (mom, and twin sister) so paranoid we cant sleep, and crying
-chases us down the street crying
-and we usally end up sleeping in the car because he wont shut up
it is alot worse than it sounds, he thinks hes a spy, and we know when he starts to get sick but every time my mom blows it off and pretends it isnt happening and sleeps and leaves the room and lets us deal with it
when we were little (5) and my grandma was alive we could go to her house and hide until the cops took him away from pointing at things and talking to himself in public/car accidents
he scares us so badly, my mom was driving last year and he stopped her on a freeway and made her change seats so he could drive because apparently she was driving badly, then he speeds his way down screaming and not watching the road 2 feet in front of a semi…and makes up a crazy story telling us mom threatened to jump out of the car,
he tells kate and that we make my mother insane, and we need to lay off of her(he thinks it is our fault, and we try to help her get though it all.)
when we finally get him in the hospital they send him back worse than before
then we send him back over and over and finally they fix his medication enough. (it usually takes about 3 months)
it has happened 3 years in a row now since i had just tuned 12, and i was always the big girl, helping my sibling and mom though it all, when im stressed and scared too
last year i had just started 7th grade, and my grandma had died, and my dad was sick, and i forgot to buy a binder over a weekend for school, and that little thing made me break down in tears for the first time since i was a little girl. last time it happened before he took off to a motorcycle gathering in south dakota(we are from iowa) he took off and i knew he wasnt right, instinctively, and i had to let my mom know, but she got mad at me for confronting her about it. she didnt want to face it, 2 weeks later we got a call from the cops, he never made it to sturgis, he was wandering around some persons backyard and pitched a tent. they took him to the V.A. hospital and send his bike to impound, then we had to get it back, a month later they shipped him to Iowa City and they kept him and put him on some drug that made him worse, and too shakey to think, and sent him home. it was called abilify. then we sent him back and hid at the neighbors until the cops duked it out with him. its happening again…and once again, before school starts in 2 days. i dont know what do do anymore
-holly
im sorry rejoice, i am a lesbian, and im not religious, and any pastor would turn the other shoulder to me. im homosexual, im an abomination, i love who i am and they have a problem with how god made me. i dont want to mess with them
hangman he is…okay for the majority of the time, but for about 3 month periods every year or more it happens
A: Im sorry this happens.
Please call the police if he continues to be like this to you for your protection.
and have evidence he is bad.
Maybe tends in the walls, bruises on arms, etc
My dad sometimes is Abusive to me.
this one time, i accidently dropped an onion on the ground,(it fell out of the refrigerator.)
and he was talking on the phone
and he looked at me and then he walked up to me and i started running and he grabbed me by my hair and threw me to the stairs..
Another time, i refused to go to church and he slammed me against the wall.
and well, much more happened other then these two.
Praying won’t do really anything.
Take action and get him arrested.
He has apparently Mental Problems.
Q: Will Ecstasy (MDMA) help with my depression?
I’m 17 now and I’ve been depressed since I was about..12..13..
Well anyway I’ve taken pills for depression “wellbutrin, abilify, prozac etc.” but none of those have helped at all. In fact all they ever did for me was make me tired all the time. I started drinking when I was 15 and I still love it,it helps. I’m pretty anti-social,in the sense that I try to serperate myself from anyone else. I pretty much just stay in my room all the time and I only have 1 friend. I started smoking pot last year. It’s alright but I still prefer to drink. I don’t drink all the time”mostly because I can’t just go to the store and buy it” but when I drink..ughh..lets just say I’ve been in the hospital for alcohol poisoning. Well I’ve read up on mdma and it sounds perfect for me. I have EXTREAMLY low self esteem. I’d just like answers, please. I would appreciate so much if someone could just help me out, please!
I do see a therapist but I never tell him anything important,I just tell him im fine and leave.
A: Ecstasy will increase your self esteem and fade any problems WHILE you’re on it, not to mention that your trip will last for a few good hours… Now AFTER you’ve rolled and are downing from ecstasy, which can last for a couple days, depression may start to kick in at in all time high followed by increased aggravation and irritability… Trust me, it’s something you may not want seeing that you already suffer from it as it is.
Q: Does the alternative to stimulants for ADHD work?
My daughter is five and was diagnosed with ADHD in September of last year. At first, the doctor put her on adderall, 10 mg then brought it down to 5 mg and it worked for awhile but it started to cause violent outbursts so the doctor prescribe abilify with it. That really did seem to help but when I took my daughter to a developmental specialist in June, she seemed outraged that my daughter’s pediatrician had prescribed one medication to treat the symptoms of another and so she recommended that we take my daughter off of both of them and put her on Focalin so she has been on 5 MG since June but it doesn’t seem to be helping at all. I had a close family member that took stimulants growing up and he eventually grew into a drug addict so needless to say, I’m not really comfortable with having her on something that people buy off the street to get high off of. Yesterday, my child’s kindergarten teacher mentioned something about an ADHD diet and an herbal medication…. I’ve looked around on the web and found some stuff on it but what I’m wondering is does it work or would it be a waste of time? They say stimulants are the best way to treat ADHD but they really dont seem to be helping, any help with this would be greatly appreciated… thanks!
A: I get asked this quite often in my practice, and my heart truly goes out to you and your family.
While I would LOVE to promote something that is “all natural,” herbal, or otherwise, there is NO research based evidence on any of the stuff that is out there. It is typically sold by multi-level marketers whose best “evidence” is to sell you on the idea of “natural,” and anecdotal testimonies that are plugged into their websites. Trying to find ANYONE who takes this garbage is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Plus…what is so “natural” about pulverizing something and cramming it in a pill? I don’t get that.
On the other hand, you will have more than enough people on this forum who all have a story of someone they know, heard of, or read about that has “suffered” from a host of horrible outcomes — like addiction, weight loss, etc., etc. Yes, these CAN happen and should be closely monitored, but once again, most of it is anecdotal and the clinical percentages are less than 0.1% of ALL patients taking traditional meds (stimulants).
I’ve had some kids have these “outbursts” of rage on occasion. If this occurs, then you will be hard-pressed to find something in the stimulant category that you will not have to use something else (like Abilify) in order to decrease that kind of behavior. Working on guidance and behavior therapy is essential as well, as I’m sure the specialist promoted. I disagree, however, in necessarily dumping the Abilify or making such a big deal about it. If it’s working….leave it alone. Another non-stimulant option may be to use Strattera. However, I don’t see much more than a 50/50 benefit in my practice.
It’s a difficult decision, and one that you’re doing an excellent job in taking your time with. Don’t rush into the idea that all these meds are created equal. I would suggest you look into a couple of the newer medications “Vyvanse,” and “Daytrana (patch).” I’ve been using them almost exclusively for the past 6 months and am getting some excellent feedback from the patients and parents. The main thing is the low side effects they have. That’s a good thing.
Best of luck to you!!
—–Now….watch as I begin to get multiple “thumbs down” by people who will just hate and object to what I wrote. Oh well.
ADDENDUM: _*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
I did recall reading a suggestive study researching the use of Fish Oil in the treatment of ADHD about 4-5 years ago. However, the subjects had to take about 12,000 mg. (roughly 12 capsules of OTC product) in order to achieve an, at best, “nominal” improvement. Now, I don’t know about you, but I think you’re in for a real fight trying to get a 5 year old to swallow that many capsules. However…it is a well intentioned thought by the commenter.
Q: Help with my 10 yr.old Please?
My 10 yr.old son has been soiling in his pants for the past year almost everyday. He has been in several different hospitals for behavior issues and is on meds. but nothing is working. Now he is on thin ice and about to go to juvy if he doesn’t start listening and following rules. I’ve taken him to our family Dr. and he did x-rays and test and everything is normal. The medicine he is on is Abilify and the Dr. said it shouldn’t make my son soil in his pants. I’ve noticed that as long as he’s in the house he will go to the restroom with no problem. If he is outside playing he will come in and change his clothes and try to hide them. He even does it at football practices and games, when we go bowling or out for family night. He does not soil his pants in school ever. He can sit all day in soiled underwear and not take a shower. People can smell him and tell him to take a shower and he will refuse and this starts a big behavioral problem. He’ll scream, whine, spit, curse, and headbutt the walls because I tell him he is grounded from going outside to play with his friends. He’ll ask several times “why?” I explain because you pooped your pants and your too big to be doing this and it’s disgusting. I have to buy new underwear every week. I have tried rewards, I’ll ask him if he has to go to the restroom several times a day and he tells me “No.” I just don’t know what else to do. He’s getting ready to be in middle school in the 6th grade.
If I bring his friends inside to play he will just sit there playing and soil his underpants and not say nothing until someone smells or see’s the evidence. I’ve tried explaining that other kids will not want to play with a kid that sits around and uses the bathroom on hisself. It’s just gross.
He also has been seeing a Psycritrist since he was 5 yrs. old. The reason he is on thin ice is because he is in sum trouble with the police for different reason and has a beyond control charge on him.
A: It sounds like he is choosing this.
Is there any way to increase peer pressure?
His friends may be able to take the odor outdoors, but if they all come in and spend time in a room when he has no opportunity to change, maybe that will be the kind of negative reinforcement that will get through.
Q: is it smart to stop taking medicine?
im currently taking abilify , lexa pro and k pins every now and then.
i dont like taking medicine, i dont feel like they cure or even supress my symptoms. i feel like i need more help but no one knows how to help me. my doc. just puts me on the next pill in the line up of many many pills.
i feel i have something seriously going wrong inside of me. whether its low seretonin or not..i require assistance, more than anyone thinks.
everyday is different but yet its all the same at the end of the day. i wish it would stop, whatever ‘it’ is..it consumes everything and most importantly, my happiness.
I wanted to know if i could stop taking my meds. To see what im like on my own. since i have been taking meds since i was 13 and i just turned 18 a few days ago.
Maybe its possible to see what my real symptoms are without any affects of any medicine. Then just maybe, since i have to do everything myself, just maybe i can come up with a real diagnosis besides just plain ol` “depresion”
my doc. is shi**y she just wants me to keep coming back for more an more so she can buy that new purse shes been eye ballin at the mall.
i feel co dependent. i feel like im too scared to make decisions on my own. but i feel that knowing that, i am reluctant to depend on anyone but myself. although it feels like im still looking for someone to depend on. i feel trapped in a big self perpetuating circle where i wind up at step 1 no matter if i had made it to step 1000.
F*CK! i need something to work….
A: NEVER stop a med without your physician’s okay. if you don’t trust your current doctor, get a 2nd opinion. follow up appointments are standard. treating depression doesn’t magically happen cuz you take a pill -change your diet & avoid all processed foods, exercise daily, maintain a healthy BMI, do yoga, volunteer, surround yourself with positive people & get rid of the negative ones. see your therapist often & change your own attitude.
